If he likes homecooked so much, why not just do it all the time?
The recipe would need to be balanced though.
If you want to feed dog food and homecooked, if the homecooked doesn't have supplements in it you should probably feed mostly dog food (at least 80-85%) or he won't be getting needed vitamins and minerals.
Ellie eats entirely homecooked.
The last time I cooked for her I made chicken, sweet potato, peas, carrots, green pepper and one other veggie that I can't think of right now.
If you want to go back to dog food, you could use canned or go with kibble and mix something in like yogurt.
