Default Atten: BREEDERS, refund on a deposit for a puppy

Hi, everyone

I have a question >>>>>>if you put a deposit on a dog (this is not a Yorkie) and something happened (job wise) where you are not able to purchase the puppy anymore, what is reasonable for the seller and buyer? I put a deposit of $300 on a $1000 dog and would like a partial refund (she never said the deposit was "non" refundable). Is this too much to ask? She said she will give me 1/2 back (which is fine) once she sells the dog, but the problem is that dog was for sale for weeks before I sent a deposit and she only had the deposit (held the dog for me) for 4 days. I want her to give the deposit back right away not after she sells the dog. Is that too much to ask?

Thanks to all that reply,
