I'm thinking the homecooking may be causing constipation, so if it were me - I'd probably get him back on the last known food that he was healthy on - which was that Newmans, asap - and go from there. If he has problems again - skip the chicken - and just feed rice, bc you don't really want any more chicken in there until he poos.
