What is the sense in that? Is that punishment? LOL.

Oh and on the guns being in schools.....My future hubby says this..... "School Zones are gun free zones, well the only ones that listen to the laws are the law abidding citizens. So arm them it makes more sense." He is so right.
Teachers deserve the respect of their students, it's absolutely essential to learning. Respect for the teacher starts at home, where respect is born and nurtured. I am a gun enthusiast so we use guns to teach about respect and character. My 11 yo son is very capable of safely handling every firearm in our home. We go to the range often, he is very proficient for his age. The fact that I'm willing to share a shooting booth and trust him with a deadly weapon is huge to him, he wouldn't do ANYTHING that might jeopardize that trust. He's already a person of character, some day he'll be a man of honor. If he crosses a teacher at school...he'll answer to me when he gets home. I don't mean that in a tough guy kind of way...I mean he doesn't want to have to face me and see disappointment in my eyes.

If the parents feel they have some control in the decision of where to send their student then they can overcome discouragement and get involved in his/her education. Can you imagine how bad our supermarkets would be if we could only shop at the one our street address designated us to? That market would have no reason to improve service, control costs, provide quality products to the customers. In addition that market would be able to nearly dictate our diet by limiting the selection of foods. You would become indoctrinated to the markets personal choices by default. Even if you know some other stores, in the better part of town have well stocked shelves full of things you want to buy.....sorry...that's not your store....but you could always move to that store's district....if you have the money. Since we can shop around our supermarkets are the envy of the world.....our schools should be too.
