Cheryl
My heart is breaking for you today. I know the pain and confusion you must be going through along with your precious friend. I too am drawing closer to this day with my beloved "Leipshen". She is almost 13 yrs old. She is completely blind. Although she is still happy, and does not appear to be in any pain, life has changed drastically for both of us since she went blind. She has been housbroken since she was a small puppy, now she doesn't seem to be able wait until she can get outside. she doesn't even try anymore. It is so sad.
I believe what everyone else has said so far is the best advise of all. Your heart will tell you when the time has come. Perhaps if you take one whole day and spend it with her. sit and talk to her, tell her about Rainbow Bridge, go over your many memories together. Tell her over and over how much you love her. I am sure she knows this already, however, these precious moments together may help you to then let. I plan to do this with Leipshen when her time has come.
May God be with you and give you strength and peace
