I just had my two little guys neutered a couple of weeks ago. My vet usually keeps both boys and girls overnight and there is no one there after hours. My little girl just turned a year old in July. I have not had her spayed yet, and this is one of the reasons why. When I had the boys done my vet told me that he would recommend they stay, but I could take them home the same day if I wanted. When I went in the tech kinda acted smart with me, she said that she had left her own puppy there for its own well being after being spayed. I told her that having a key to the building and the ability to check in any time during the night may be more reassuring to her, but I did not see how it could be for their best interest to be here all alone, scared, and in pain instead of home with me? She gave me the look, then went and collected my babies for me. They did fine, here with me.
I am so undecided about my little girl. She is soo tiny. There is no way I will let her stay there overnight alone. The tech told me that the spays had to stay over night no matter what. I have not discussed this with my vet yet, but if that policy is written in stone. I'll go elsewhere. Good luck with your baby. |
