Garlic got a bad name because it's a member of the onion family and onions are bad for dogs. You can safely use garlic in small amounts. I read that it would take a whole bottle of garlic powder to make the average dog sick. Many who say it has healthy properties highly recommend garlic. It is in various dog foods, snacks, and my vet recommended sprinkling some on food when a dog was sick to stimulate the appetite. Dogs love the smell. |
