Default Hip hip hooray...Because Your Dog Is Worth It Too Day!

Well, we did it! Our first year at BYDIWIT Day!!! Unfortunately we got off to a late start and we got a little lost (we were right around the corner and didn't realize it!)

We got there around two o"clock. It was suppose to be from 9-3 but as we were getting out of the car, we asked a lady if it was over and she said "Not hardly". It's not over until around 4! We were happy so we took off over the hill and towards the festival!

We walked around a little bit and bought our admission ticket and got our admission bracelet so that we could walk the rest of the grounds.
The only part we hated was that it was very muddy in a lot of areas. I think it was due to the HUGE pools that were all over as drinking stations and cool off points for the dogs. I think that once the water got too dirty to drink and wade in, they dumped the water out onto the grass and refilled the pools. No problem, just had to watch were you walk and make sure you didn't slip!

All in all we had a really nice time. Refreshments were reasonably priced, the free sample stations for the dogs were really nice! Brooklyn came home with his favorite cobblers from Nutro and a host of other things that he was able to share with his big brother (who was unable to come)! The gift bags from Loreal were not what I had expected. Instead of little party bags (like I thought). When you redeemed your "gift bag ticket" they handed you these fabulous big pink Loreal shopping bag filled with so many cosmetics, toiletries and dog treats you thought you had just gone shopping! For the mere 10 dollar admission price...your gift bag had to filled with between 50-100 dollars worth of merchandise!

Everyone was very nice. I was unable to recognize other YTers but saw a lot of adorable yorkies out there! Brooklyn was wearing a green & white surf tank top and a pair of blue jeans. He looked so nice. He tried to get to know everyone but made it his point to bark & go ballistic at all the big dogs!
We did a lot of walking and Brooklyn had the chance to get in one of the wading pools to cool down. He also took the opportunity to seek shade at each vendors table that I stopped at. Brooklyn doesn't have the chance to meet a lot of other dogs but I hope that maybe more YTers that read this message who are in the local area might want to get together for a "play date" out in the Cranbury area. The area is very beautiful (use to work out that way).

Hoping that the festival was able to raise a lot of money in the fight to conquer cancer. Brooklyn and I were honored to be apart of the effort today. Brooklyn's Great Grandmother (my grandmother) passed away 2 years ago from Lymphoma Cancer. She was my everything and didn't get the chance to meet Brooklyn. But I decided that after her passing that each year I would do at least one thing (no matter how small) to help the fight of ANY kind of cancer!

Blessings to those who have lost a loved one, continued blessings to those who are survivors of this disease. Today was in honor of all of you.
