Default coat

You really want to avoid shaving her...I have never found it harmed the coat, but sets you back so far in growing her coat out...

Don't wet the coat until the mats are out..use a conditioner on your fingers, or a spray dematter..I love Vellus dematter..you can use a mat splitter on the coat that does not show, under arms and belly etc..they split the mat in half..yes, you will lose coat, but not nearly as bad as shaving it. Slowly work the mats out one by one withthe end of a metal comb..but if she is badly matted all over at the skin, you may have no other recourse but to clip her down...and one other thing...I do not find a silk coat will mat so badly it is impossible to detangle..and if her coat is soft, you may not care to show her anyway...what type coat do you think she has..??
