I would encourage you to take a few days off if possible or arrange a friend or family member to drop by mid afternoon to let your puppy out to potty. I got Lucy almost 3 years ago over Thanksgiving break so that I could start training right away and she caught on very quickly. Once school started back up my dad was home during the day to let her potty in the afternoon. Some dogs can hold their urine longer than others. I am getting a new puppy as well and I am about to start a full-time job. I am going to try to schedule it so that I have a couple of weeks to start crate training the new pup as this method worked wonders for me with Lucy. Good luck!
