All of my female animals (cats and dogs) have stayed overnight with their spay. The vets won't leave them alone if they are not stable. They give them pain meds right before they leave at night so they are quiet and sleep all night and don't eat or drink before they should. I know it is hard to think of them alone all night, but it is for the best that they stay confined and quiet. My vet said 99.9% of the time after any surgery all is fine. You can arrange to transport your baby to a 24 hour facility that evening, then pick her up and bring her back to your vet in the morning if you want. There will be additional expense with this. Now that I think about it, my male cats all had overnight stays after their neuters as well.
