I just got my new puppy about a week and half ago. We are training him to go outside also, and is doing a good job. When we are inside I do have a puppy pad down, but he dosent notice it, but I also keep a Belly Band/WeeWEE Wrap on him as well for accidents. Both my boyfriend and I work full time, me leaving the house at 6:30 and boyfriend at 9:30, the puppy is alone for at least 6 hours. For now we put him in his crate, he likes it in there and I think he feels safe, and he does fine. We will eventually get him a X-pen when he gets bigger so he will have more space. Your pup will do fine alone, everyone has to work! Maybe you could try to train him for going outside and using the papers inside too
