they are saying that Bernie died from a rare disease called sarcoidosis, well it's not that rare. I think if people really knew what to look for they would find that it is a very common disease, it just affects different people in very different ways. My mom has been battling this for the past 7 yr's and it affects her in many different ways. She was diagnosed by her eye dr. she also has it in her lungs and other parts of her body. I also have an ex SIL that has it along with other family members of her's. It can take a toll on the persons body. It is also related to the Lupus family in the way of symptoms.
It can be handled with Prednisone but that can also lead to becoming a diabetic (as it did with my mom) she is now on insulin, along with the prednisone it causes her to have very high blood sugar sometimes not even registering on her meter. I am sad that it take the death of a star to get people to stand up and take notice of something that has been around for a very long time, on the other hand i hope something will come from Bernie's death and they look for a cure or better ways for people to manage this disease
