Lady is like that. She'll sniff and snort and run backwards if her pad is wet. I have to change it after each use.

Has he already started to lift his leg? If he has, he won't start to squat now. You can make him a "target" for his pad. I know people fill milk jugs, etc. with sand or kitty litter to weight them down, then wrap a pad around them. I think they even sell little fire hydrants for that purpose.
Oh yeah! He's been lifting his leg since he was about 4 months old It was the funniest thing because he was so tiny and he had perfect balance. I can never tell when he's peeing because he stands perfectly still and looks straight ahead...looks like he's just standing there. Part of why its hard catching him in the act.
