Sometimes you had to move about ten 20lb bags just to find one that was "safe." I once went to grab a bag of pedigree of the shelf the whole thing split open. Someone had cut it and them put it one the shelf where you couldn't see the cut. One of the employees had the nerve to give ME a dirty look. Who ever put that bag out on the shelves after it was cut open and no longer suitable for sale was at fault not me. That was the last time I bought pet food there and I try not to buy much else from them either. I now buy a better quality food from a feed store.
I finally got ahold of my daughter. She purchased the food at Safeway and plans to contact them. My understanding is that Purina's response is this is not serious enough for a recall. I don't get this as it's costing many consumers time and money to get rid of these pests. Oh, and they are grain mites.

Would this be allowed if these mites were in human food? I also wonder if they are in Beneful and the food is stored in the back room until the store puts it on the shelves could these mites be infesting human food nearby? YUK

BTW...my daughter doesn't usually buy Beneful...just did so to tide her over til she could get to the pet store. I can assure you...she'll never buy it again!!
