OMG! You handled that soooo well! People who park their carts in the aisle are just plain ol oblivions! I think these type people want the attention it brings them because it then gives them the opportunity to 1) be noticed, and 2) give them the opportunity to be rude...then again sometimes they just say I'm sorry...but still...one must think of the other person too when out in public. I think the boy had better manners than his mother did!
You should have been given a medal and the whole store applause for your handling of the situation...Alan Funk(t) might have popped out and said "smile, you're on Candid Camera!"
I am a very nice and thoughtful person in my dealing with people, but in this type of situation I would have told the woman that now is not the time to attempt to teach manners to her son and if she doesn't move her cart NOW, then the store manager will be brought into this situation...I would have pulled out my cell, called the store and asked for the manager to come to that aisle and if she moved off then I would have followed her, ha ha...I'd be a stalker...oh me, listen to myself...this kind of stuff really gets to me. Guess my pent up anger at having to be nice sometimes just boils over.
You did good though...you're mother brought up a really nice person. |
