Yes they are very squirmy and it has happened to my pups when friends have been holding them. It is so scary but the little guys are pretty resilient. I bet he will be just fine but definitely watch his behavior and how he moves and you will know in the morning if you should call the vet or not. Poor little guy, give him a squeeze and a hug from us.
