The packing does seem to be helping. My right cheek is really starting to swell though and it's making talking extremely difficult. I did go to an oral surgeon to have them taken out and he used nitrous oxide and an iv to put me to sleep. As far as pain meds go, he said to just keep taking the ibuprofin (600 mg every 6 hours) but I think I'm going to start taking 2 500mg tabs that I have here at home every 4-6 hours and see if that helps a little more. I am suppossed to go back Monday morning to have them repacked. Everything I've read online says that the packs are normally replaced every 24-48 hours...but mine at supposed to last 4 days? They gave me a number to call after hours if the pain gets bad over the weekend. The packs taste horrible and I'm paranoid that they are going to come out.
