By the third week you will deffinately notice them pooping and peeing on their own. Mommy might still stimulate them to pee. But I noticed by the 3rd week she no longer ate the poop lol so I started finding the little poops on the pee pad. Lucky would crawl to the pad and pee on it even though he could not stand yet. He would crawl and just lay there but I would see the pee stain spreading lol. You could try canned puppy food mixed with a little bit of Gerber Chicken and some water to make it like a shake...Try putting it on a tiny bowl,I used a tiny spoon and let him smell it .I put some on his tongue...then he started licking it off the spoon. Now he's licking the food from a tiny 3 oz bowl. he eats about2 tsp per meal. I feed him 4 times a day.
If you dont want to try canned food you can buy dry puppy kibble and put it in a blender so it turns to powder. I add a little water to it until it turns like oatmeal. Lucky prefers the canned food so Im giving him that.
