One of our new Biewers was 7 months old when we got him so he had adjusted to a certain life style prior to coming to our house. He was not very well socialized. I think it just takes a strong pack leader to make things work. I brought Spanky in and put him down ad said MINE in a loud voice. As the other dogs went to sniff him a repeated MINE!. Yes I agree. YOU have to be the pack leader. If you don't know how to do this I suggest that you watch Cesar Milan The Dog Whisperer on the National Geographic channel. or buy his DVD. If you re not a strong leader, it will not work.
As for the teenagers and the commotion, I would just make sure that the new little girl had a crate that she could go to where no one is allowed to bother her. she will adjust to all of that in her own time.
