I think that sounds really smart. These little stinkers can sneak through the smallest spaces - so anything you can do to contain them will put your mind at ease and keep them safe. We don't really let our guys out alone in the yard bc of eagles etc. too - so I don't know if that's a concern - but like you, we've still blocked off any little areas where we think they could get under.
