Chanel had a spot on her leg as a baby....the hair one day was just gone - it was about the size of a dime - I freaked and took her to the vet - it was nothing that he could diagnosis so he told me to just watch her - it did grow back - I think she got bit by something and pulled her hair out - your puppy couldn't do it since it's on his head - so maybe it could be ringworm ?

That's exactly what it could be I've seen pictures of animals with ringworms and they have lost their hair at the site. Ethan had a ringworm a few weeks ago but no one else got it thank goodness.
