I say he is bored ~ So you need to play, run or walk him to wear him out more. I say throw away the 'plastic toys' - they are most likely from China and who knows what they are made out of, so you don't need him eating that crap!
Merrick Flossies are GREAT 100% digestible chew treats - better than the Nylabones (as they are not 100% digestible)
He is still a bit young, so he got LOTS of energy to use up
