As thrilled as I am for Phelps, I'm so disappointed for the women's gymnastic team.
My girl, Shawn, continues to be strong - but it is so hard to watch the majority of the team struggle and be hurt
-- I really had believed that this would be a team like the magnificent 7 from 8 yrs ago.
It is so hard knowing that the Chinese have very apparently lied and have girls too young out there on the floor. Not to take away by any means the steadiness they are showing. But a couple times tonight the scores seemed to be off in comparing the US and China
Praying Shawn sets this all straight later this week - and earns gold in multiple events -- it is so hard - here for months they have been running commercials calling her the Golden Girl - so how much pressure is that, and know only silver in the team event. I can't imagine the pressure on her at 16.
