I was researching, looking at a breeder's website the other day, and this particular site addressed the issue of weight and size. They said that they breed for "compact", but strong, healthy Yorkies. Therefore, their Yorkies WEIGHED more (not more than the standard), but the weight was because of strong bones and lots of muscle, not because they were LARGE.

This made sense to me, and I definitely want a strong, healthy yorkie, more than I care about how much he or she will WEIGH. But I do want a smaller SIZE yorkie, so that it's easier to take him or her with me wherever I go.

Which got me thinking - I have SEEN very few Yorkies in my lifetime in person. It's mostly all been pictures. I have no idea what the actual SIZE of a 3 lb vs a 7 lb yorkie is.

So I was hoping people on here could help me out with some measurements. I am very curious to see responses...

What does your yorkie weigh? And what are his/her measurements from floor to the top of the whithers? From the whithers to the base of the tail?
