Here in Boston, it's more about the dogs than the people socializing. It's actually a bit awkward being a human at the doggie meetups. lol...Anyways, my Yorkie group meets once a month at an indoor doggie play center, mostly because in the winter you can't have a Yorkie outside very long. Us humans sit on the floor and unleash the dogs, who just play and play and play and play and play.
When it's time to go, you just grab your pup and head for the door. No awkward wave to the people who don't care to know your human name...just your Yorkie's. lol.
Fun for your dog...not so much for humans. But it makes you feel like a good owner. from what I've heard, some other meet ups are more social for the owners as well. I just haven't experienced that here in Beantown. |
