It's been a pretty controversial idea, but they went through with it. I was amazed. A lot of people thought the money (almost $1 billion) could be better spent on alternative energy or public transportation projects, but our governor saw it as a more immediate problem. People needed help right away, and those projects would take time to be effective.
It also makes no allowances for income level. Everyone gets the same amount.
