Don't brush with the gel, use a dog toothpaste for this. Joey has a "poultry flavored" toothpaste, and he doesn't mind getting his teeth brushed. The gel or spay is more like a tartar control mouthwash that coats teeth with a substance that is said to soften tartar and helps prevents it's formation. Then you brush tartar away with a dog toothpaste, don't use human toothpaste the artificial sugar could harm your pet. Brushing is an important part of this because it stimulates the gums where most of the problems start. |
