I lay Meeko on his side in my lap. Squirt a little bit of the gel on the top side of my hand - so it's easy to get more and you don't double dip into the bottle-, grab a q-tip and pull his lip up. I just gentely rub it on the outside of his teeth say I kept telling him to stay and he's a good boy. He absolutely hate when I open his mouth but, this way I'm really not, just opening his lips. He hates the toothbrush too. I try to only brush his teeth once a week and your petzlife once a day everyday. I stopped for 2 weeks because I had my college finals and then I was moving and then went to NJ to visit my family and on the outside of his back molar plaque started to form and his breath is a little stinky. So no matter how hard they fight at first, stick with it!! Eventually they'll realize you're not trying to hurt them lol and get use to it.
