I was really concerned about Ellie (I worry too much) and insisted that she was supervised until her stitches came out.
I let her wear a onesie instead of an e-collar and she tried to get to her incision through the leg holes, especially when she was wearing a size that was too big for her. I would have been very nervous about her chewing her incision and I did not want to leave her in an e-collar alone.
