I just called and made Lily's appointment to be spayed.
I originally wanted to have her done on a Friday if possible because I'm going back to work this week (summer's over!
I'm a teacher), but of the two doctors at the vet I use, one is going out on maternity leave and they're only doing surgeries twice a week now--so Lily's appointment is for this Wednesday. Oh boy.
So of course I'm a bit concerned. My husband will take her in on Wednesday morning at about 8:00 and they'll do her surgery first thing. They'll monitor her all day long and then we can pick her up around 5:30 that afternoon. I'm worried though that the next morning I'll have to leave her crated because we'll both be off to work. I know she just sleeps all day while we're gone, so do you think she'll be okay? I've heard I can buy a baby onesie to keep her from her incision.... what size do I get? OR.... do you think I should reschedule the spay for next week and see if my husband can get a day off work to stay home with her?
Any other advice or comforting thoughts are welcomed... I know I'm going to be a nervous wreck.
