Ask me what the first dogs to sell usually are from a litter and I would have to tell you they are the smaller ones. I have a boy from our last litter that I cannot give away right now as he is going to be about 5.5-6#, go figure. Oh and he is not "babydoll" faced. That is the other request. This will continue to be a problem until there is not a market for it. So the same people who are complaining about the sick or unhealthy dogs they are receiving are also the ones who are causing alot of the problem because they are keeping the breeders in business who are breeding for "teacups".

As for the designer dogs. Same issue. If there was no market there would be no designer dogs. No one is forcing these people at gunpoint to pay thousands of dollars for what years ago would be termed a mutt. No market = No designer dogs.

JMO!
I completely agree with this! I think that many want that tiny, babydoll look (which I'm not saying is right or wrong), just that as long as there is a demand for these babies, irresponsible breeders will be more than happy to provide them.

Hopefully more stories on the dangers of puppy mills, ect will open some people's eyes to the situation, but I still believe many will want what they want because they want it.

I sure do hope I am wrong about that though!
