it sucks that her stitches keep popping. it has nothing to do with the fact that they are dissolvable, though. they are usually used in oral surgery, just like for people. if only you could keep her from rubbing her face. i'm sure that's causing a big problem. what about a bathroom sized paper cup? if you cut out the bottom would that fit around her head and be long enough for her not to rub?

That would be way too huge... but the nurses and I did try a few "rigged" things.... no matter what we tried, she would have to be completely immobilized in order for her not to get hung up and hurt herself.

The stitches are staying in tact... it's just that every time she even opens her mouth to nurse... yawn... or even cry.... the skin is now pulled so tight from the second "clipping" and stitching, that it rips the skin away from the stitches....
