Mayor Ray Nagin of New Orleans has stopped all animal rescue now that mandatory evacuation has begun. Please sign this petition, and forward it to anyone you can to sign, to make sure animals are included. Many are chained and cannot get food. Animals can survive on the water for now, but they are going to starve to death, and the water will shortly become contaminated and start to kill them. There are numerous Rescue groups standing by, just waiting for permission to enter the city and begin evacuations of pet animals.
