I'm glad you didn't sell her the puppy. She sounds very irresponsible. If she doesn't have much money because she spend too much on her child's bday party she should have only done a birthday she could afford.
I'm not saying everyone has to have tons of savings (I know I certainly don't have a ton), but to be digging into food money and who knows what else to buy a puppy for a child just isn't responsible and shows she is an impulsive person and probably not the best to raise and care for a living, breathing animal.
It sounds like she goes overboard spoiling her child and just wanted the puppy to satisfy her daughter's want of having one.
I think you did the right thing and I hope she stops calling and harassing you! That is just nuts!
