She never wakes during the night and the vet said not to wake her if she was not waking herself. In the beginning I was waking her to take her to the pee pad, but she never went...she just thought it was play time. During the day when we are gone, she is in a penned area in the kitchen with a pee pad. She uses the pee pad every single time and when we are home with her she either uses the pee pad or goes outside. My question is this...should I let her sleep in her penned area? It is much bigger than her crate, but she has a bed in there that she loves and her pee pad? I am anxious to hear anyones suggestions!!! | I would feed her a bit earlier and If she is not awaking at night she would not poop. I would take her out in the middle of the night rather then having her poop in the crate.
Taking her out in the middle of the night might be the alternative to pooping in the crate and will not go on forever,( thats what I tell myself to keep motivated) your pup is still young. Jack and Mandy sleep in the crate together and Jack had a few accidents in the crate because he was sick and had diarrhea but otherwise he will not poop in the crate.
I dont do the pee pad. I only take them outdoors and crate them at night. They have a xpen in the kitchen and trying to get them to bark or use bells to let me know they want to go out. Are you going to eventually train her to go indoors or out??? Hope I was of some help to you
