There may not be anything wrong with it in and of itself but if it made her uncomfortable (which it seems like it did) then there certainly IS something wrong with continuing to bother the poor child (can't you say thank you? you're being rude... whatever he said). We all have a right to our own boundaries no matter our age and they should be respected. I'm not sure how old Maya's Mom's daughter is but she does not appear to be a toddler or young preschooler. At a certain point men (strangers) run the risk of making a girl uncomfortable by commenting on her appearance. It just isn't always appropriate.
