I understand a friendly hello, if your daughter chose not to speak, then this store employee should have just shut up and done his job. In a business establishment I am not obligated to speak to those who serve me other than is necessary for the worker to perform his/her duties. No doubt about it - I would have spoken to the manager AND I would consider trading with a different store.
With that said, I am a gargarious, friendly person who thinks nothing of starting conversations with complete strangers. It isn't outside my mode of operation to compliment people on their hair, clothes, and in one case I told this complete stranger (male) what georgeous legs he had -- just a statement of FACT, no flirting. |
