I agree. I know that we are in some crunched economical times. And some people are really being hit hard by them. However, for the sake of your dog let someone take him that might be able to provide healthcare and proper nutrition. The dog also needed to be on heartworm prevention. There is no telling the true medical condition that the poor thing was actually in. It is very sad. Around here, our local HS provides free rabies shots, spay and neutering for those who cannot afford it. It is local vets that are donating their time for the sake of dogs and cats in this county. Our vet whom loves small animals and has a large practice. If someone comes in with a sick animal and cannot afford to pay, she sets up a payment plan for them and treats the animal anyway. I know this, because I set up their computer systems. I really admire her for that.
