Default I was just reading another thread and I want to know how...

Can you find out who owned the grandparents of your dog? My ex-mentor kept her cards close to her chest. She knew I want to eventually breed a dog that I could (hopefully) take to champion. She took the father of my studs to the edge but didn't finish him. I could never find out why. I think, mind you, I think it was because she realized he would never make 4 lbs but she hasn't tried with another dog since then and the male was about 3-4 years old when I knew her.

I did find out from her that their line has been free of any genetic problems for 3 generations, to my studs father. But as knowledgeable as she was, she would barely tell/teach me anything. I got the feeling from things she said that because showing is so competitive that she didn't want me in it, in case she decided to show again. Not that my dogs would have given her anything to worry about. At least by what she said to me. She told me that my line is 2 or 3 generations away from throwing a champion. Hmmm, LOL. Don't know quite how to take that. Anyways, I finally got frustrated with her, lost faith in her and left her when I could politely do so.

So, anyone want to give me some suggestions as to how I can find out more about my lines without having to be in contact with her again? Sylvia
