WELCOME and good luck with your search! It sounds like you've put a lot of thought into this and I hope it all works out. A couple things to consider is whether or not to get a small puppy - 1) since you have a larger dog (could be dangerous, no fault of the larger dog who might try to play) - 2) since you're out of the home 10 hrs a day (yorkie puppies often need to eat, depending on the puppy, 3-4 times a day at first; plus there is potty training) - and 3) a puppy could never be alone with the 1 & 4 yr old (you'd have to be present at all times). Still, it's possible - others have done it safely - just takes a lot of planning and thought. Keep us posted on all the excitement!
