On the top left hand side of the page it says User CP, click on that and you will see a choice on the left hand side of the page that says "Edit Options" click on that, and uncheck that part that says do you wish to receive instant e-mail notivaction, don't forget to go to the bottom of the page and click "save", or the choices you made will not be entered.
I have read before where there is a problem with the system and these boxes become checked or unchecked all by themselves.
