They are caused from bacterial infections, generally somewhere where the skin has been moist. (Under a neck bandana, or collar or a spot where the dog has been licking excessively. They look dry and flaky. Somtimes they will be raw and scabby if the dog's been scratching or chewing at it and may be lost hair at the site. Generally treated w/ antibiotics.
