Tbone had a problem with this, but I started teaching him to go from a laydown to a sit, instead of always sit, lay down, and stay. I mix it up to keep his attention. So when he did it wrong he was more inclined to go strait to a sit from that position. I also use hand signals along with the word. Down is one finger pointed to the floor, and sit is all of my fingers held together pointed up. They do it without the verbal commands now. But sometimes he still goes to the laydown and quickly figures it out. Hey, I never got 100% on every test I took in the 20 years I was in school.
