Hi AnaClaire - Darwin has the same problem right now. We've been putting in mometamex drops for 4 days, but I'm not sure it's getting any better...I feel like when I put in the drops, after massaging, and he shakes his head, the ointment just comes right back out the ear and makes the inside of his ear all greasy and the hair around his ear gets all greasy also. And then this afternoon, I noticed a red blister type thing forming in one of the crevaces of his ears maybe from the ointment collecting in his ear folds and not allowing it to dry? I cleaned it up with qtips, but it's still red.
The 1st day the vet put the medication in, and his ear smelled so much better that afternoon, but since I've been doing it for the past 3 days, his ear stink seems to have come back. What does this mean? Am I not doing it correctly? |
