you do not have to rehome one, you need to train and establish a hierarchy.
i have a 4.5lb yorkie, and a 100lb (puppy, 15months) dog called a shiloh shepherd. my yorkie tried to be the top dog with the puppy (when he was 8wks old he was 18lbs) and the bigger pup was a push over. i had to establish dominance over the yorkie (who was still a pup at about 6months old) so that the yorkie knew that i was the boss.
the only time there has been blood was when my yorkie bit my shilohs canine and cut the inside of his mouth.
if your dog is drawing blood you need to stop it asap. even if you need to make a makeshift muzzle to stop it.
then make sure you are the alpha, you do not have to be mean, or violent to be the top dog, just in control. you will know you are top dog when you say something and they stop to look at you, or you step between them and they both stop what they are doing.
if you need to consult a professional trainer. |
