I use a product called Flea Treats. Their web site is "www.fleatreat.com"
I have four dogs (three are yorkies) and I have never seen a flea or tick. I live in the mountains of California and have wild critters (raccoon, oppossum, skunk etc) and do know they come in the yard surrounding our house. Even with these wild critters, have never had a flea. Have used this product for years and swear by them. For 500 tablets which my dogs love, it is around 24 dollars. It is given by weight. An example: 0 to 29 lbs is 1 tablet in the morning and 1 at night. I would never use anything else. Hope this info helps.
