Wow that is a long time for any puppy ..maybe you could ask a friend to pop in the morning half way and half way in the afternoon . I did that for my daughter's shepherd when he was crated when he was young and he is fine now . I would suggest a crate so that he learns to hold himself ...as long as he gets the breaks with a friend instead of a free for all in the kitchen . Just my opinion ...or doggie day care !
