I think you should hold on to ALL puppies until you feel they are ready for their new homes. Maybe make this known at the time someone makes a deposit.... "the earliest they will get the puppy is whatever number of weeks or until such time you feel they are ready for their new homes". I am sure most people would understand this.

Who would really want a puppy when it is not eating well...??? There is enough stress in the new home with the crying puppy (missing its mates).
