Ummm.... he can stand on the step. Not in the shallow end. He has a life jacket to help him stay afloat. I let him sit on the step for a good 10 minutes with his jacket on to get use to the water. We are going to the lake a week from Saturday so I am hoping that when he sees my friends Chesapeak Bay mix swim, he will get the idea that it can be fun. After he gets use to the water, we plan on going out on a pontoon for awhile. I sure hope he likes swimming. It would give us another activity to do together.
